SFA Group awarded Greenly Gold Medal for climate governance

SFA Greenly 2024

SFA Group has been awarded the Greenly Gold Medal, placing the Group among the top 5% of companies worldwide for climate governance. This distinction reflects the maturity of its climate strategy and the consistency of actions undertaken to address climate change.

This Gold Medal follows SFA Group’s third consecutive greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions assessment conducted with Greenly. For 2024, total emissions amounted to 307 kt CO₂e, confirming the central role of robust measurement as a foundation for effective and credible climate action.

A measurement framework designed to drive action

The GHG assessment process is structured around three objectives:

- measuring and understanding the carbon footprint,

- raising employee awareness of climate-related challenges,

- structuring a clear and actionable carbon reduction strategy.

A recurring and reliable measurement framework enables the identification of priority levers, progress monitoring over time, and the gradual integration of climate considerations into operational and strategic decision-making.

Key climate actions in 2024

In 2024, climate initiatives continued across logistics, infrastructure and mobility, with a focus on reducing emissions throughout operations and the value chain.

Optimising logistics and freight

Logistics flows were further optimised, supported by new partnerships aimed at reducing the carbon intensity of transport and international shipping. These initiatives contribute to lowering emissions associated with logistics activities.

Improving energy efficiency and expanding renewable energy

Across several sites, infrastructure upgrades improved energy performance through energy-efficient lighting, optimisation of technical equipment and enhanced energy management systems. In parallel, on-site renewable energy production continued to expand, supporting a more resilient and lower-carbon energy mix.

Advancing low-carbon mobility

Progress including the gradual renewal of the vehicle fleet towards lower-emission alternatives, the deployment of charging infrastructure where relevant, and reinforced policies promoting responsible travel and commuting, supported by employee awareness initiatives.

Strengthening climate governance over time

Greenly’s evaluation highlights the structuring of a decarbonisation trajectory supported by multi-year action plans aligned with climate ambitions. This Gold Medal represents an improvement on the previous Silver distinction and reflects the continuous strengthening of climate governance.

By combining precise measurement with targetedand scalable actions, SFA Group continues to contribute  to the transition towards a low-carbon economy, in line with international climate objectives and its long-term sustainability commitments.
